Sure didn’t!
I am not going to lie, I am currently getting out of my first rut since my transformation, but all is well.
What am I up to now?
As of June 2019, I have moved back to Washington State. My goal was to take a break from higher education—and I failed. I landed a job at a local community college and am still finding my routine. I plan to find my footing again in the fitness world, but I am looking to become a confident Wellness/Life Coach in the process.
What challenges am I facing?
When I first moved, I did a pretty good job of consistently going to the gym, although I felt my training was slacking in intensity. As my finances became more difficult, I decided to take a break from my commercial gym and forgive myself for the struggles I have been facing. I thought I would try taking a break from power-lifting and attempt to workout at home, but it is just not what I enjoy.
Since then, I have had a difficult time re-establishing my regimen—but I haven’t completely lost hope. My work provides me with a free gym membership across the street and I have started back into training; slowly but surely. I am not the biggest fan of the facility, so I have just signed up for a free trial at a local gym and if I like it, I will sign up through my insurance for a cheaper rate. I want that intense, garage-gym type feel.
How am I setting myself up for success?
Success is a tricky thing. I have been talking about the gym more at work and posting more often on social media. I want to be able to really help people. So, I have made it a natural thing to talk about in most of my daily conversations.
I have found a podcast about making money as a life coach, and one of the best quotes that I have been spreading around is “perfection ruins momentum.” I LOVE perfections, but it is a goal that will keep me from reaching my potential. So I have promised myself that although I am not looking for perfection to make some big moves, it is okay to search for some stability in the meantime.
SHOUT-OUT TO THE UNIVERSE: I will be publicizing how I can help people as a life coach by the end of the year 2019!
